Sleep Apnea on the Rise

A recent study from the University of Wisconsin found sleep apnea cases have jumped at least 55 percent in the past two decades.

A recent story on Detroit’s CBSLocal.com explained that, in part, sleep apnea can be linked to obesity. The Mayo Clinic notes that in addition to obesity, other causes of snoring can include:

  • Anatomy of your mouth and sinuses
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Allergies
  • And a cold or flu, to name a few.

To help consumers battle snoring from their significant others, Protect-A-Bed has launched its "Who Snores More" Sweepstakes. This sweepstakes allows Americans to nominate their significant other for a chance to win a SnoreBeGone sleep positioning system from Protect-A-Bed and a $500 gift card to Kohl’s. For more information on SnoreBeGone or to enter the sweepstakes, visit ProtectABed.com.
