A recent study in France published in the Archives of Internal Medicine places intoxicated and sleepy drivers on the same level. The study suggests both types of drivers are at least twice as likely to be involved in a car accident, compared to sober and well-rested drivers.
An interesting comparison: four hours of sleep or less roughly equates to a six pack of beer (and a blood alcohol content of 0.19).
A valid and friendly reminder: there is no substitute for sleep.
